Visually the vinyl has some signs of surface wear on both sides, with some spindle trails on the labels too. There are some scuffs, sleeve removal marks and the odd scratch too. Audio-wise, the vinyl actually plays very nicely and based on surface noise alone I think it would have graded as VG+ but in the absence of general surface noise there are routine ticks and louder crackles in some passages so I'll overall grade this record as somewhere between VG and VG+. It's a nice sounding record and there's luckily no groove wear which is normally found on these mono pressings. The easy to damage tracks like "Eleanor Rigby" and "Here, There And Everywhere" have very little crackle in comparison to how these records often turn up but again the issue is the ticking / pops that can occur. Luckily the vinyl sits nice and flat on my deck and there aren't any jumps on the record. The only place I could really detect any clear rotational pops / ticks was on a passage of "Yellow Submarine". Side 2 plays a little bit nicer and despite these ticks, the record's sound quality is still quite nice. It's a far from perfect LP but it could be a really nice starter copy as it's luckily free of groove wear.
Please note that my camera can't pick up the surface wear as well as I'd like it to. It could be better but could definitely be worse too.
The original Garrod & Lofthouse flipback cover is in quite nice condition. Overall I would grade it as Very Good +. The spine text is nice and clear, the cover is still bright and white and the laminate shine is quite nice. The only demerits are some slight corner bumps / damage, one corner on the front is slightly discoloured and there's a couple of spots of dirt and some light foxing to the openings. That said, it's holding up nicely, it looks great and it's in much better condition than a lot of these turn up. Not perfect, but a very nice one! The inner sleeve is a generic white paper inner sleeve. I'm not sure if it's original to this LP or not. The text colour looks okay to my eyes but it's positioning is a bit different to how the inner sleeves usually come up. It could be a misprint or it could just be a random sleeve from the era, I'm not really sure. Either way it's holding up nicely.
