The December 1968 issue of the Billboard magazine was one of the first to announce that Longines-Wittnauer Co. acquired Capitol Records Direct Marketing Corp. which included Capitol Record Club. Starting in 1969 all of the Capitol Record Club releases were issued by The Longines Symphonette Society, which was a direct marketing company working out of Larchmont and later New Rochelle, New York and operating from the late-1960s until 1974 whose one of the main businesses was mail-ordering LP box sets of classical and easy listening music. Unlike the other Capitol Record Club versions with the Capitol orange-red labels, this copy of the "Revolver" album contains the label with the very rare credits reading "Manufactured by Longines Symphonette, Symphonette Square, New Rochelle, New York  Under License from Capitol Records Inc." along with the unique ST-8-2576 catalog number having the "8" number after the prefix. Capitol Record Club cardboard cover of this copy is extremely rare because unlike the common record club covers with a white border and 3 black diagonal stripes, it has a black border and 3 white diagonal stripes. Additionally, the back cover contains the RIAA 16 number which was assigned only to the copies manufactured by Longines Symphonette from 1968 to 1972. The Longines Symphonette Capitol-label releases during this period were pressed by one of Decca Records’ pressing plants. This copy was pressed by Decca Records' Pinckneyville Pressing Plant and contains the "2" symbol in the runout groove, machine stamped on Side 1 and hand-etched on Side 2. The full matrix numbers are as follows: Side 1 - ST1 82576 1-1-1  2; Side 2 - ST-2-82576-H1-1   2 11111 D.

The unique cover, specifically manufactured for the Capitol Record Club issue and different from the cover of a regular stock copy, is in stunning Near Mint condition still remaining in its original intact factory shrink wrap with breathe holes. The album comes with an original white paper inner sleeve in Near Mint condition. The final upgrade of this copy could be a factory sealed copy but unless you open it you'll never know whether it has the "Manufactured by Longines Symphonette" credits. Therefore, you'd be looking for an opened copy as your final upgrade, and this copy is it because it has the impeccable Near Mint labels which don't have any spindle wear or scuffing. The vinyl with a beautiful shiny lacquer with Side 2 in Near Mint Minus condition. Side 1 is slightly inferior in its condition in comparison to Side 2 and is graded as Excellent Minus as it has only a few super light surface scuffs from the inner sleeve. The record has an impeccable audio.
