The Beatles Revolver LP UK 1ST PRESS 606-1 Remix 11+1G 1R EARLIEST STAMPERS Mono

Up for grabs is this UK vinyl album by The Beatles (please make sure you read the condition carefully). Entitled Revolver, this is an original mono issue, first pressing with the withdrawn Remix 11 version of Tomorrow Never Knows (matrix number XEX 606-1 on Side 2). This version was replaced almost immediately on John Lennon's instruction.

This copy also has the earliest possible mother and stamper numbers - 1st mothers for both sides with 2nd stamper (R) for Side 2 and 1st stamper (G) for Side 1. (I don't know of any copies that have come to light with 1G stampers on Side 1 although they may exist.) Even for this withdrawn Remix 11  version, pressings reached the 2nd mothers and there are stampers well into double figures. 

The labels are the original black and yellow Parlophone with both "SOLD IN U.K." label text and "THE GRAMOPHONE CO. LTD." label rim text. 

The Side 1 label has the KT tax code embossed in the centre.

The Side 1 label also has the uncommon printing anomaly of an extra full stop after "SOLD IN" and before "U.K." (see pics).

Both the Side 2 label and the back cover have the earlier printing version of "Dr. Robert" (see pics) which was later changed to Doctor Robert. 

The LP is housed in the original Garrod & Lofthouse "patents pending" front-laminated, flipback cover and original Emitex tracing paper lined inner sleeve.

On the Parlophone label, the catalogue number is PMC 7009 and the date of issue is 1966.

Condition

Unfortunately, the record is well-used and not in the best condition - but ideal if you just want to own a cheap copy of the very earliest first pressing.

The vinyl is only in Fair condition. It does play through with no jumps or sticks but has a fair bit of background noise.

The labels are in Very Good Minus condition, clean and bright with clear, perfect printing but a bit of spindle wear, quite a few spindle marks and a couple of scrapes (see pics). There is also a name written at the top of the Side 2 label but this is not very noticeable as it is black pen on a black background. 

The Emitex inner sleeve is in Very Good Plus condition with no tears or splits.

The front-laminated flipback cover is only in Good condition but is still sound with no edge splits. It has some edge and corner wear with some laminate creasing and a name scratched on the front (on Lennon's face - see pic). The back cover has surface and ring wear and a surface tear to the flipback in the top right corner. There is also a name written on the letter R of Revolver. The spine is complete with clear printing but a bit of wear.

If any item has any writing, stickers, sticker marks, tears etc these will always be mentioned along with the grading. All records are sent in custom-made mailers, with stiffeners, and are packaged outside their sleeves to prevent edge splits.
