Description
Not in the best of condition vinyl-wise, please see further for details, but great to own a copy, this is the sought after Mono first pressing (August 5th 1966) of The Beatles - Revolver. Pressed for one day only this pressing has the 'XEX 606-1' side 2 matrix and contains the alternate take of the album's last track 'Tomorrow Never Knows', which has never been released elsewhere. There’s also the ‘Dr Robert’ error. I’m not an expert on Stamper Codes, and they’re hard to make out. ‘0D’ and ‘0R’ perhaps?
The sleeve is in pretty good order as seen. A few creases to the laminate coating. Please examine photos. Looking at other listings I think it has the original ‘Patents Applied For’ inner sleeve.
Now to the vinyl. Overall appearance is good, quite shiny with clean labels as seen. There are some small visible scratches, not too many, the worst pictured. Also numerous minor scuffs etc. Sadly there’s a background crackle most of the way through side one, strangely only in the left channel. No clue why, but it’s there. Otherwise there’s the usual slight pops and sounds in the intervals and quieter passages. The small scratches aren’t particularly noticeable in playback and there are no jumps / skips whatsoever. Side two plays better without the background crackle of side one. Pleasingly the playback of Tomorrow Never Knows is good, just a few slight pops in there’s up and runout.
As you can probably tell I’m not a record dealer. I’ve done my best to describe the record with my own words rather than gradings.
I’ll package very well.
