Description
Revolver a 1st pressing from 1966 on the UK Parlophone label. Please note this pressing would have only been available on the first day of release. Matrix XEX605-2/XEX606-1. The '-1' cut on side 2 includes the now famous remix 11 of the track 'Tomorrow Never Knows'. Stampers 1-RG/5-MA. The record labels also hold the abbreviated track 'DR.Robert' which is only apparent on the earlier copies. The LP comes housed in an original cover printed by Garrod & Lofthouse with the original white inner. 100% original & 100% complete.
Cover (Ex) Very well preserved and has clearly been looked after down the years. The front is nice and shiny exhibiting hardly any fade at all. The rear is also in remarkable condition showing almost no fading or wear. All flipbacks are nice and secure, but there is a tiny segment of the bottom flap on the extreme right which is missing [c.5mm]. Edge wear is minimal with just a slight abrasion on the top centre edge. The spine is 100% intact and overall the cover retains excellent rigidity. Difficult to find in much better condition than this...it's a really nice example.
Vinyl (Vg/Vg+) Under close inspection it is evident that this record has seen a moderate level of playback. There are a number of light marks on each side - but nothing significant or troublesome. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals an, at least, VERY GOOD level of playback. Many of the tracks playback really nice [e.g. TNKs and Taxman] with only very light interference, but in other tracks there is some light static crackle evident [e.g. Eleanor Rigby and Here There Everywhere]. These tracks still playback fine, but there will be a bit of interference audible. At no point is this interference overwhelming - playback even in these tracks is still very enjoyable.
Inner (Ex-) One one inch split otherwise fine.
