THE BEATLES - 'PLEASE, PLEASE ME'
This EXCELLENT early UK 1st STEREO pressing dates from mid-1963 on the black & yellow Parlophone label: PCS 3042
Both labels omit the 'Sold in UK..' text but have the 'Recording First Published..' text & 'The Parlophone Co..' worded rims
An early 'MT' purchase tax code is visible in the centre of the side 1 label
Earliest matrix numbers: YEX 94-1 & YEX 95-1
Stamper codes: 1/GR & 1/M
Vinyl weight: 172g
Housed within a front laminated, trip-flipback 'Ernest J. Day' printed cover, with a large front 'stereo' indicator
Complete with original & correct poly-lined inner-sleeve

Both are clean and bright with some light wear around each centre hole only
Visual: VERY GOOD +
Both playing surfaces are clean and retain an excellent deep-gloss shine. There are a small handful of light surface lines and turntable contact marks in strong daylight, but nothing I would call a scratch. Closer inspection directly beneath my unforgiving halogen desk lamp reveals only some harmless wispy paper-type hairlines.
Sound Quality: EXCELLENT
This copy has received a moderate amount of careful play on quality equipment and plays clearly and clearly with no trace of any groove/playwear distortion. My playcheck detected two light ticks on 'I Saw Her Standing There' together with a touch of light background between tracks and on some of the few quieter passages, but no other significant audible distractions.
Cover: EXCELLENT -
A respectable example of this fragile cover which retains a sparkling, high-gloss front laminate bearing just a touch of storage and two or three faint 'thumbnail' and light edge wrinkles
There is light shelfwear to the lower corners but no damage to either of the opening edges. A a telephone number is written on the rear panel but it is otherwise clean and white and all of the delicate flipbacks are fully intact
Both seams are smooth & unstressed and the spine is unworn and fully worded
Inner-sleeve: EXCELLENT
Clean & flat with some gentle storage wrinkles only
