New photos of mother stampers G and R now uploaded: Theses are very difficult to photograph and much clearer to the naked eye. Incredibly rare with the earliest known mother stampers (1G/1R). Matrix YEX 95-1/ YEX- 94 -1. This is likely to be a first press stereo PPM variant with later label attached. A unique and hugely rare find. Large Stereo on cover, slight laminate peel. No writing or rips. Audio rich and warm. TAX CODE: MKT But only the letters MK are visible to my camera, but I can see with a magnifying glass a T. Audio V++ Visually Vinyl is VG+ Cover a VG no splits or writing but a little sticker tape residue to rear.
Here's some info on first stereo Parlophone presses: The mother codes 1G/1R means mother 1, stamper G which is the very first pressing. On pressing machine One. The label on this record is considered a fifth stereo and these were printed just a few weeks after the Black and Gold Stereo labels. It is estimated that well under 2000 first press PPM copies were made, and that only 600 stereo copies were pressed because stereo was not the leading format in vinyl at this time. No other non first press PPM pressings have these mother stampers. This PPM anomaly is an extraordinarily rare and interesting item for avid collectors of Beatles music.
