Description
For sale is a great condition very rare ‘True 3rd Mono Issue’ of The Beatles debut album – Please Please Me
You can tell this is the rare True 3rd Press Mono because of the extra ‘33 1/3.’ on the labels, and the lack of the ‘Recording First Published’ text.
The first two presses were on the old gold and black labels, but with the first copies of the new Parlophone labels they forgot to remove the extraneous ‘33 1/3’. This mistake was soon corrected.
Unsurprisingly these third issue copies are rarer than the second issues and have very low stamper numbers.
This copy comes with the rarer first issue ‘Gold’ sleeve, with the front photo credit starting at the end of the second s in songs. This sleeve is in overall VG condition- no writing but has a small split on the bottom edge - see photo. Spine fully intact and readable.
Original Use Emitex inner sleeve in excellent condition
Record labels are VG+ with minor spindle marks as only issue.
2RR and 1RR stampers.
Side 1 is visually and sonically VG+. A few very minor scuffs and wispy marks. Plays through with occasional light crackles and a couple of clicks between tracks 6 and 7.
Side 2 also VG+ and plays with just occasional light crackles.
No sticks skips or jumps.
Please note that I will not sell or ship to the Russian Federation as long as the dictator Putin is in power
