Description

The Beatles: Please Please Me 1963 PMC 1202. MKT tax code. 4th Mono press. Play tested. Excellent Audio. Rare EJ Day Angus McBean Sleeve (lower fat right corner).

PLAY TESTED.

Audio: Excellent.

The audio is excellent. Just some light surface noise/static on the intros/run-ins on either side. Just a little/occasional crackle/pop, and relatively quiet between most tracks.

Vinyl Appearance. Near Excellent.

The vinyl looks excellent. Very few minor scuffs/marks. Even under angled light there’s just a few light hairlines on either side, and absolutely nothing feelable, or anything to affect the audio.

LABELS. VG++

Side 1.

Other than some light spindle marks, really only visible under angled light, the label is clean, bright, graffiti free, with just a little ware to the centre hole.

Side 2.

As above, but with less ware to the centre hole. MKT tax code.

SLEEVE. Good. (Ernest J Day Garrod). Large Mono to top right.

Angus McBean to bottom far right, indicating a first press sleeve.

As the photos show, the sleeve has had a fair amount of repair over the years, especially to the rear panel, with tape to top and bottom flip-backs. There’s also general age related ware, and a name in pen below the two columns of text. Tape repair also to the front panel, which also has creasing. The spine has some scuffing to the text, with ware to spine corners.

It is however, the rarest of Beatles sleeves, and those in better condition are expensive, and very few and far between.

EMITEX INNER (Polythene-lined). VG.

The original Emitex die-cut inner, has considerable creasing and a little yellowing with age, and some feathering to top opening. There’s also a small split to top top left.

PRESSING INFORMATION.

This is a fourth mono pressing, 1963 until January 1964. Black label with yellow logo and silver print.

Parlophone Co. Ltd perimeter print and Recording first published 1963. MKT tax code on side 2 label.
