Description

Please take a look at four Beatles LPs I have for sale this week. All bought in the late 60s early 70s. All incredibly well looked after and preserved by one owner since new. If you are looking for Beatles LPs in excellent and above condition then check them out!

The Beatles PLEASE PLEASE ME   mono PMC 1202

This beauty was one of the last monos off the EMI presses before stereo records took over in a big way. Dating from around 1969 it has transitional labels one with ‘sold in the UK … and one without. It has had very few plays. The labels look absolutely perfect and the audio plays as though it was new.

LABELS: XEX 421-1N and XEX 422-2N. Side 1 has the ‘Sold In UK statement. Side 2 does not. They look almost mint to my eyes. If you want to be conservative EXCELLENT ++. Whichever way you look at them, they are probably the best Parlophone black/yellow labels I have seen! If you had bought that LP yesterday new, you would not be disappointed.

VINYL:  Am amazing clean sheen on both sides. You may see some very feint lines but when played the glorious mono sound is perfect. I will be conservative again and grade it as EXCELLENT++. If there were any slight clicks I didn’t hear any.

The Garrod & Lofthouse patents pending COVER with a small mono on the top is an excellent+ example. There is slight corner wear on the top and bottom edges and on the edge where the record goes in the cover, I would say this is more storage wear than anything, but it is still a remarkable example, white, unmarked and with a slight mis-press in that the colour photo is slightly off centre and is slightly wrapped over onto the rear side, hence the white at the top is slightly larger than on other examples from the same period.

The inner sleeve is a great example of the EMI Advertising sepia type. This is beautifully preserved with no rips along the seams or other flaws. Maybe a slight crease at the top only.

Overall, a very fine example of a late 60s UK Beatles LP.
