Description

An original and highly sought after STEREO pressing from SUMMER 1963. Matrix 1/1. Stampers 1T/1-GO. These early copies DO NOT mention 'Sold In The UK..' and DO mention 'Recording 1st Published', along with 'Parlophone'. This is one of the earliest stereo copies you can find before those super collectable black and gold copies - very worthy of consideration and much much more affordable [yet coming as little as a couple of months later]. The heavy-set vinyl comes housed in an original STEREO Ernest J Day cover - absolutely correct for summer '63. Remember, at this point in time STEREO was still a very niche format. Also included is the original Emitex inner sleeve. So, 100% genuine and 100% complete.
Vinyl (Ex+) In superb condition and I can't really imagine finding one of the early copies, like this, looking quite this smart. Under close inspection there are a couple of light marks per side - nothing heavy or troublesome. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals an EXCELLENT+ level of playback. Intros and inbetweens are nigh on silent and the audio comes across with perfect clarity. Great channel separation and, importantly, super clear audio. If you're in the market for a clean playing early stereo copy do give this copy serious consideration - I doubt there will be anything out there that will match it. Low-key tracks play as clean as the up-tempo ones. 'Love Me Do' is pretty much perfect and that's often a heavily played track. I'm struggling to find fault. A very very fine example of a seriously hard to find record. You might detect a couple of crackles in a couple of isolated moments per side. But to all intents and purposes this is about as good as it is humanly possible to go on this title/format.
Cover (Ex-) In lovely condition and has clearly been looked after down the years. I don't think there are many of these early '63 covers looking this darn sweet. Lovely clean and shiny front cover with just a couple of tiny thumbnail creases. The rear looks great and is far far better looking than what usually surfaces. There is come light tanning in evidence, but it's pretty minor. All flipbacks are intact and secure. Edge wear is minor and the spine is 100% intact.
Inner (Ex-) Lightest ageing. No splits.
