Description

An original 4th press of PP on UK Parlophone from summer 1963. Matrix 1N/1N - 1st cut. Labels are consistent with 4th press. NO 'sold in the uk' statement and 'recording 1st pub' present. Tax code "MKT". the heavy-set vinyl comes housed in an original E J Day cover. There's also a Decca inner sleeve from the time too.
Vinyl (Ex/Ex-) In great condition particularly given the vintage and has seen relatively light use. Under close inspection expect a few light marks per side and one small semi-feelable mark which does briefly sound. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals a mostly EXCELLENT level of playback with a couple of deviations. Intros and inbetweens are lovely and quiet and the audio comes across with excellent clarity. A super little player and there's little to find fault with. A very nice clean rendition with that bold mono sound the early copies are famed for. Plays clean into the trickier tracks too. All I could detect was a couple of minor ticks in the intro to 'Chains' & a couple in 'Love Me Do' and again in 'Know A Secret'. That is ALL. Like I said - just what the enthusiast should be aiming for...
Cover (Vg+) Nice clean and flat front with just one noticeable crease down in the bottom left corner. The rear has avoided the worst of the ageing process. A bit of wear is observable along that bottom flipback. Let me reassure you that the flipback is fully secured - and will not cause issue at all. Expect a bit of edge wear in the odd spot. Most noticeably in the top left corner. The spine is fully intact barring that top left corner wear. Overall the cover retains excellent rigidity.
Inner (Vg+) Light ageing. Bag present. No splits.
