The Beatles Please Please Me Gold Mono - 1st press DJ label Type 2
The Beatles Please Please Me 1st dick James press type 2.
Another one from my collection with the label largely gone un-noticed until now.
The difference on this one, is the indented or grooved outer rings on both sides. This was pressed for one run only with the mother code no's being 1 H / 1 H
These rings are quite different from the (usually) 3/4 rings you sometimes see on the standard Gold DJ mono's (or type1), as they are quite deep and consistent all the way round. Again, there are plenty of examples on late 50's EMI artist's LPs such as Adam Faith for one. Some say, this 1950's pressing machine was shipped to EMI India..
As can be seen, this is a collection filler, but I've been looking for an upgrade for a long while now, so be my guest to join me. Meanwhile this copy is up for sale and is also the version that's featured on my website www.beatlebay.co.uk as 1st press - type 2.
Cover is on par with the record though it does come with a MINT emitex inner sleeve!!
