Description

This is a copy of the 5th mono press of The Beatles Please Please Me album from late 1963 on the Parlophone label, record number.
The matrix numbers are XEX 421-1N / 422-1. The label has no “Sold in the UK…” text and has “The Parlophone Co.Ltd.” on the edge of the label.
I’ve played the record through and it still plays with a strong mono sound. However, there are some larger surface surface scratches on the record and a bit of spindle wear. I’ve tried to show a couple of the more noticeable scratches in the photos.
There is some background crackle throughout the quieter parts of some of the songs. There’s some cueing crackle at the start of I Saw Her Standing There and as the song starts. There are some crackles between songs and quieter sections of Misery, Anna and there are a couple of softer pops at the end of Ask Me Why.
There are some marks and wear to the sleeve that I’ve tried to show in the photo but there are no rips, tears or writing on the sleeve. There’s some wear on the sleeve edges as detailed in the photos.
The record does has a good quality Emitex inner sleeve.
I’ll mail the record in a thick cardboard mailer with inside protective water resistant plastic packaging marked with‘fragile’ packing tape.
This auction starts at only 99p with no reserve!
Thanks for looking at my auction. Please let me know if you have any questions or if you would like any additional photos of the record. Please have a look at my other auctions as I regularly list vinyl and vintage items. I’m trimming down my Beatles vinyl collection so will be listing more Beatles and Apple records in the next few weeks.
