Description
The Beatles Please Please Me 3rd Pressing with the extra little 33 1/3 near the center hole.
This is the "infamous" 3rd Press, or 1st Yellow & Black Parlophone Label.
These elusive labels are even rarer than the "Northern Songs" Golds, and for many years went unnoticed till very recently. You'll see 10 Gold Stereo's on eBay before 1 of these pop up.
This is a very decent 3rd pressing with the 1 P / 1G Mother Stampers and YEX94- 1 / YEX95-1 Stereo Matrix
Conservatively visually graded at Ex-, this is very very hard to get in mint, and prices have varied from £3000 to £8000 for a real stunner.
This one looks like it hasn't been played more than 10 times and at first glance it looks in mint, but there are a couple of careless needle marks that hasn't seemed to have affected the sound at all. Sounds lovely and Included here is a recording of the vinyl. Unfortunately upon playing this again using a different needle I have noticed a jump at the end of side 2 on the last minute. I have looked using a strong magnifying glass but still can't see why as no scratches are visible.
Outer Sleeve is a very rare "Gold" EJ Day Stereo cover in VG+/G++ condition. It has suffered a split to the back top and was previously repaired with sellotape which had aged over time leaving the yellow mark. These are impossible to find in anywhere near approaching Ex, and this one presents itself well.
The 1G stamper on this disc is also very sort after as these are usually the property of the Stereo Gold.
Priced at a conservative £3000 in the 2020 Rare Record Guide and at No.13 in the 200 all time rare records (Rare Record Price Guide/Mag 2012) just after the Stereo Golds!.
Comes complete with the correct Patents Pending EMITEX inner sleeve in Ex also.
