The Beatles Please Please Me 1st Gold Cross over UK
The Beatles Please Please Me Gold Mono Parlophone in Ex-/VG++ Condition.
This is the very rare cross over of the 1st and 2nd pressing of the Mono Please Please Me Lp. There couldn't have been more than a handful of these pressed, and is also classed as a transitional label copy. This means we have the absolute first brand new " Northern Songs " Credits on side 1, and the very last of the " Dick James " credited label on side 2!
This is a very handy copy to have, as because it is a crossover, it shows exactly when the Dick James labels were substituted with the new Northern Songs (2nd Press) label via the mother stampers :)
These crossovers are quite well known and as such are sort after as obviously there aren't very many. I sold my Nr Mint one for nearly £2K not so long ago :( , and a poor one for £216 last month also. This is my last one and is in a very respectable condition and plays absolutely fine. I have included a recording of it so you can hear the play, though not the quality as it is an MP3. There are some marks but are superficial as can be heard and seen in the photo's. The labels also have some damage but these were prone to this.
The sleeve is very nice too. This of course is the first pressed E J Day Gold Sleeve with the Angus McBean Credit to the EXTREME bottom right starting directly under the "S" in Songs on the front cover.
Inner is the Original "made in England Patents applied for" Emitex type in Excellent.
Very Very collectable not just for the labels, but also the proof that these pressings do actually really exist.
