The Beatles Please Please Me 1963 1st Press Black Gold Label MONO LP 2nd Variation.
This is a 2nd variation of the Black and Gold label of the Beatles please please me album. Here the "Dick James Mus. Co" credit from the first variation has been altered to "Northern Songs" instead. These copies are rarer than the first variation.
Matrix numbers:
Side 1: XEX 421-1N
Side 2: XEX 422-1N
In good condition especially for its age.
The record itself plays brilliantly with no skipping or or sticking during tracks and some light pops and clicks between tracks. Absolutely remarkable considering it is now 60 years old!
There are a few scratches on both sides as depicted in the photos but this doesn't seem to affect the sound.

The Emitex Parlophone inner sleeve is in superb condition with no tears or splits.
The outer sleeve is in fair condition. It doesn't have any splits across the seams but there is some fraying as depicted in the photos. It contains the correct positioning of the "Photo: Angus McBean" loacted on the far right of the front cover and it was made by Ernest J Day & Co . Ltd as shown on the back. These outer sleeves were only used to house 1st pressings.
Comes with a brand new record liner.
I have taken great care to show the records condition in the photos.
All in all, an iconic piece which would make a fantastic addition to any collector.
