Capitol Records’ Scranton, Pennsylvania pressing plant error - “Penny Lane” label on both sides. Unheard-of matrix in the runout area. Discogs only lists: “Matrix / Runout (Runout A): 45-X-45870-G4 11, Matrix / Runout (Runout AA): 45-X-45871-F5 #2. Matrix / Runout (Variant runout A): 45-X-45870-F3 #6, Matrix / Runout (Variant runout AA): 45-X-45871-G6 #3. This record has matrix numbers ending in “870 F3” and “871 G6 #4”. Definitely the Scranton pressing plant, because it has the triangle in the runout area with “IAM” in it. Running time of 3:00 also incorrect; the correct running time of 2:57 was put onto subsequent pressings. So all 3 errors / variants (label, matrix numbers, running time) make this record very rare, and certainly a collector’s item. And you do get to hear “Strawberry Fields Forever”, despite the labeling error. Definitely worth owning!!! FREE SHIPPING!!!
