Up for auction is a 1969 pressing of The Beatles' PLEASE PLEASE ME album, UK Parlophone PCS 3042.  This is a very late variant of the black and yellow label issues of this album.  There is a small bit of writing on the back cover from the original buyer when the record was purchased, noting the date and location.  This includes the original coral/reddish colored inner sleeve.
This record and cover are graded a 7.5/10 throughout, with grades 9 and 10 used sparingly (please see grading scale below).  There are no audible marks on this record, or anything that I consider an actual scratch.  I wet cleaned this record upon purchase close to 20 years ago on a Nitty Gritty, and it's remained clean as I treat all my records with respect and never handle the groove.  It's always been played on my Rega 3 since I acquired it, first with a Grado wood body cartridge, though mostly with a Shure V15 (after selling the Grado).  The cover is a Garrod and Lofthouse, and has no splits anywhere, with the "small" variant of the "stereo" on the front.  The labels do not have spindle trails, etc. and still are quite nice.  As with all these vintage pressings, both sides are sourced from the original -1 tube mastered lacquers.  Side one is from the 2nd mother, and AT (39th) stamper from it.  Side two is from the 1st mother, and AM (34th) stamper from it.

Covers Gem Mint 10 – Cover is virtually perfect, without defect.
Mint 9 – Cover has no visible wear.  Colors are full and bright.  There will be no serious defects.
Near Mint 8 – Cover seems new at first glance, but has some barely noticeable wear.  Colors are full, but may be subdued.  White areas may have some very slight aging.
Excellent 7 – Cover has some very minor wear, but no serious defects.  Some minor friction or light flaking may exist.  Corners are relatively sharp, with maybe some minor wear.  May have some age mellowing of the white and colored areas.
Very Good-Excellent 6 – Some moderate wear will be noticeable on artwork, but there will be no serious problems.  Corners will not have significant wear.

Records Gem Mint 10 – Vinyl has no imperfections.
Mint 9 – Vinyl has no meaningful imperfections.  Vinyl luster is full.
Near Mint 8 – Vinyl has a few minor imperfections and should play without noticeable surface noise.  Vinyl luster is nearly full.
Excellent 7 – Vinyl has a few noticeable imperfections.  Vinyl still displays some luster.  Record may play with some slight surface noise, but nothing very distracting.
Very Good 6 – Vinyl has more noticeable, but not major, imperfections.  May display some original luster.  Record may play with some more surface noise than a grade 7, but will not overwhelm the sound.
