Please Please Me 1963 UK MONO LP PMC 1202 4th Press type,
RARE variant labels 2h, EX
For sale is a first pressing of the Beatles' highest sought after first album Please Please Me 1963. The vinyl record is used but has been well preserved and is in excellent visual and sound condition, there is normal vinyl with a couple of pops/sticks in the quiet part between songs, no skips, repeats or skips. The vinyl has been professionally cleaned with record cleaning machine VEVOR and appears to be in absolutely excellent condition, comes in an additional anti-static inner sleeve, the sleeve is in excellent condition, a nice record. This lovely, deep mono sounding record, 4th edition, UK 1963 -1N/-1N is an original analogue release.
Matrix numbers: Side 1: XEX 421-1N; Side 2: XEX 422-1N.
Mothers/Stampers: Side 1: 1,0 / RGD; Side 2: 8 / RRA; ( side 1 very first press numbers);
Weight 145 gr., heavy thick vinyl record;
There is embossed KT tax code, stamped at the center side 1;
CONDITIONS:
VINYL RECORD: Side 1 is EXCELLENT; Side 2 is EXCELLENT-; Visually clean vinyl record, deep-gloss playing surfaces bearing just a two very light surface short lines/marks side 1. Nothing to worry about, nothing that impacts playback. Audio tested both sides with AUDIO-TECHNICA AT-LP 120XUSB Turntable.
An wonderful deep sounding mono copy, that has been played auditioned with care, no sign of any play wear. Apart from a bit of vinyl background between tracks, a couple of sticks in the quiet part between the songs, there isn't any wrong with this mono masterpiece. Pops/crackles are not heard at the quieter songs. (Slight static crackles are common with vinyl records, especially when they were manufactured more than 60 years ago.) No skips, no jumps, no repeats. Amazing condition for a 60 year old vinyl record.
COVER: EXCELLENT-
The original cover is produced by Garrod & Lofthouse Ltd. Patents Pending credit, glossy front laminated flipback, with outline big “mono“ on front cover and the catalog number PMC 1202 from the Parlophone record company logo on back. There is written a small number 8 at the right upper back side. (see picture)
Clean and nearly intact cover sleeve, without wears to front side, no staining to front, a little to back cover. Cover sleeve spine - clearly, fully legible name, no wear.
Labels: EXCELLENT
Yellow/Black Parlophone Type-3 labels with added "Recording First Published 1963" Credit. Very Rare 4th (or 5th press according some collectors) press type, Variant "2h" labels. For the 4th (5th) press labels used San Serif type font. A fully clean and bright pair labels with a couple of handful of light spindle trails around each center hole.
Inner sleeve: EXCELLENT
An original printed by Harrison and Sons Ltd., EMI Polythene-lined "Use Emitex" die-cut sleeve type-2. This sleeve was made in a thinner material than inner type-1. “Use Emitex” die-cut, intact, with no split or tears, and a clear inner lining inner sleeve, used between 1963-1964 on Beatles' first "Parlophone" albums.
