: ‘TUG OF WAR’ – A 1982 UK PARLOPHONE VINYL LP – PCTC 259.
BEAUTIFUL EXAMPLE, COMPLETE WITH AN UNPLAYED DISC.
Tug Of War was Paul's thirteenth "solo" album release, released on the 26th April 1982, and almost two years after Paul’s "McCartney II" album.
With "Ebony and Ivory" doing so well in the singles chart, the timely release meant that the album entered the L.P. chart straight into the highest position. After two weeks it had sold 20,000 copies in the U.K. and had passed the 100,000 sales mark before August. It remained in the chart for over 6 months.
The production of "Tug Of War" spanned a year and a half, starting in October 1980, and not being completed until March 1982. During this period, on 27th April 1981, it was officially announced that Denny had left the group, and that Wings had disbanded. "Tug Of War" had an initial official release date of 15th February 1982, then 12th March, but did not appear in the shops until the end of April 1982.
The Vinyl LP is on the RED Parlophone label on side 1, and a BLUE Parlophone label on side 2, with Manufactured in the UK, by EMI Records label text.
Both sides of the record labels are in Mint condition, beautiful set of unmarked labels.
Official Side 1 matrix: PCTC 259A-8U and Side 2 matrix: PCTC 259B-8U.
Both sides of the vinyl disc are in Mint unplayed condition, the vinyl disc is as new.
The album comes in it’s ORIGINAL printed card lyric inner sleeve and is in undamaged Mint condition.
And is housed in its ORIGINAL card picture sleeve which is in Mint Minus condition, a beautiful sleeve with just light shelf wear to the bottom edge.
A beautiful example, of this great McCartney album, great music content.
