Description

Offered from an estate collection is this rare 1964 "The Beatles & Murray The 'K' As It Happened" picture sleeve (with original staple holes) 7-inch 33 1/3 RPM vinyl record, featuring interviews of the Beatles with legendary New York Radio DJ Murray the 'K,' nicknamed the Fifth Beatle. Condition of sleeve is very good to excellent with minor wear and no tears or splits -- staple holes are original. Condition of vinyl is very good with no skips (does have some minor background crackle as you would expect from a preowned record). It wasn't overly played. This fan club recording of the Murray the 'K' interviews is rare. Not released by the Beatles, it is an historical recording from the Beatles' early days in the U.S. and England. Copies of the record were mailed out through the Murray the 'K' Fan Club and came in a mailer stapled with membership card and letters from the club. It was recorded in 1964 in New York, Miami, London and Washington. The recording includes two snippets of live versions of She Loves You as well as a snippet of a live version of Shout. It also includes John Lennon reading his poem I Sat Belonely. When the British Invasion hit the U.S., legendary New York radio DJ Murray the 'K' was the first DJ the Beatles allowed into their circle. Nice desirable collectible for Beatles or vintage vinyl fans. Thanks for looking and good luck bidding!
