Description

 THE BEATLES.

I AM VERY PLEASED TO OFFER FOR SALE THE FOLLOWING;
Love Me Do / P S I Love You , 50th ANNIVERSARY ( WITHDRAWN ) Parlophone UK Single together with the reissue version.
( GUARANTEED ORIGINAL EMI FIRST ISSUE RECORDS, )
                                                 ( NOT COPYS )
Originally due to be released by Parlophone in the UK on the 5th October 2012 to celebrate 50 years since the original Love Me Do single was released in October 1962, however, when EMI realised that the Love Me Do version that had been remastered and used on this Limited Edition  50 th Anniversary release was in fact the version from the Please Please Me Album which was the version with the professional session drummer Andy White instead of  the Original release version which featured Ringo Starr on drums.
 EMI hurriedly sent out an urgent ‘FAULTY STOCK ‘ Recall Letter to all the record dealers  That they had supplied with stock prior to the scheduled release date telling them of the recall And instructing them not to sell any of the records that they had supplied. Unfortunately some pre release orders had already been taken by the dealers and were duly sold principally because at the time of the recall letter there wasn’t any information supplied by EMI as to when a  re pressed replacement would be supplied. The so called corrected replacement with Ringo Starr on drums was duly released on the 25th of October 2012 but unbelievably this version still carried the incorrect catalogue nnumber to the side 2 label. This is where all the confusion started between the genuine withdrawn pressing  and the replacement resulting in many unsuspecting buyers thinking that they had bought the  withdrawn version but in fact they had bought the replacement release. The confusion was further compounded because in order for the discs to qualify as mint buyers were obviously not playing the copys that they had bought in good faith on ebay.
Speculation has abounded as to whether or not this was a genuine error or indeed a ploy by EMI to generate interest and sales of this limited edition  50th Anninersary release, it also seems Inconceivable that a re pressing would be released that still carries the wrong catalogue number for the B side ‘ P S I Love You ‘

IDENTIFICATION;
For the inexperienced Beatles collector I would like to point out the differences between the two pressings  that have caused so much confusion on ebay and has resulted in unsuspecting buyers actually buying the replacement issue, thinking that they have bought the rare withdrawn version.

Even if you do not purchase from me I hope that the above explanations of the differences between the two pressings will help any future inexperienced buyer for these records on ebay to be able to ask the right questions to a seller so that you know that you will be buying the genuine item.
