Description

Up for sale is this 1970 USA Apple Red Label pressing of The Beatles "Let It Be".The album carries the catalogue number AR 34001 (JR 17500).

There are two issues with the sleeve:

1) The minor scuffing you can see in the photo (dotted white areas around the words "LET IT BE") at the top and bottom of the front cover, which is in the same condition on the back.

2) As you can see in the photos some previous owner (i.e.: fool) has driven a small nail or pin through the top right corner of the cover all the way through from front to back. This annoyed me when I bought this album 10 years ago, but as the disc was in such good condition and I hadn't seen this version before I bought it. The sleeve is thick card with the inside pictures pasted on.

The disc is in excellent condtion and plays with no pops or crackles etc.

I've been told by a member who knows about holes in record sleeves that the hole in the sleeve was made at the record store at the time that the album was deleted from the then-current catalogue of Apple records. Which still seems like an foolish thing to do.
