An original 1st press of LIB on UK Apple. Matrix 2/2 -1st cut. Let me qualify the '1st press' statement. Earliest 1st pressings come with a 'red apple' on the rear of the cover. This example is a later 1st with green apple. The 2/2 copies would have been available to purchase as the LP charted. On side 1 label the '1' of track one can be found directly below the I&D of 'Side 1'. It sounds crazy - but this is precisely the design layout of the 1st copies. LIB requires a very clean presentation in my opinion [and only a few copies can properly deliver this]. The vinyl comes housed in an original thin spine cover. We also have an original Apple inner sleeve from the time. So, 100% genuine and 100% complete.
Vinyl (Ex/Ex+) In lovely condition and has only seen very light use. Under close inspection I can only make out a few very superficial marks per side - absolutely nothing remotely troublesome. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals a mostly EXCELLENT+ level of playback. Don't under estimate this grading on LIB. In my experience LIB is an incredibly fussy record - one of the fussiest by the Beatles. Most copies, even very good looking copies, just will not be able to deliver clean audio into the fussiest moments. Think Let It Be and Winding Road - these tracks will catch out 80+% of copies. Only a solid early copy that has been very sparingly played and has been carefully looked after is going to stand a half chance of playing these tracks near perfect. It is very unusual to hear these tracks rendered with a clean background. But that's what we have here. A super clean player. Expect nothing more than a few light crackles in one isolated spot per side. This is easily the cleanest 2/2, and consistently clean, player I've witnessed for quite a while. For someone who is very fussy with audio - this would be worthy of serious consideration. Highly recomended!
Cover (Ex-) In great condition and the aesthetic of that front image - has been well preserved. Nice deep blacks which have not faded. Front and back exhibit just one light creases and one tiny patch of laminate lift. Edge wear is light and the openings are still relatively sharp. The spine is 100% intact - with just a couple of tiny stress creases. Overall the cover retains excellent rigidity.
