Description
This is the second in a series of auctions of extremely rare Iranian Beatles and other EPs. Once again it is a once in a life time opportunity to own a virtually impossible to find part of Beatles’ history. The EPs were released in Iran in the late 60s by Ahang E Rooz music company on the Top4 label.
The tracks are:
EX-4174
Side 1 Sgt. Peppr’s Lonely Hearts Club Band (with misspelling)
With a little help from my friends
Side 2 Lucy in the sky with diamonds
Getting Better
EX- 4175
Side 1 Lovely Rita
Good morning, good morning
Side 2 A Day in the Life
The sleeve is a double gatefold one with wonderful photos of the Beatles from the sixties: in rich, vibrant colour on the outside and in an evocative black and white inside.
Both records have rarely been played.
EX- 4174 is in slightly better condition with few, if any markings on either side. I would grade it as ‘excellent’.
EX- 4175 is in similar condition apart from one mark on each side. On side 1 this is a hairline mark of just under 1” in length. On side 2 it is a quite wide light mark towards the end of the side. Neither mark has any discernable effect on the sound quality. I would grade it as ‘excellent –‘.
The cover is creased on both sides and you can see the outline of the record on it. There is a slight tear on the top right hand side of back cover. I would grade it as ‘very good’.
These are extremely rare records and ones that all Beatles fans would wish to own.
Happy bidding. Do not hesitate to contact me if you have any queries.
My records are graded in accordance with Record Collector's Grading System as follows: MINT(M)The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. The cover and any other items are in perfect condition. EXCELLENT (EX): The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing. VERY GOOD (VG): The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable. GOOD (G): The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discolouration, etc + or - indicates a grading in between categories
