Very early 1st pressing Version 1 copy of The Beatles “Introducing…The Beatles” released by Capitol Record on January 10, 1964. This was the first studio album released by The Beatles in the US. Before mentioning that the labels of this copy are among the rarest ones, I’d like to emphasize the fact that the runout groove of Side 1 contains the clear handwritten “1-10-64” date stamp which fully corresponds to the release date of the album on Vee-Jay Records. In my opinion, this circumstance makes this copy highly collectible. This copy represents the 1st Version of the “Introducing…The Beatles” album and less than a week after its release, Vee-Jay was served with a restraining order stopping further distribution of the Version 1 album with the “Love Me Do” and “P.S. I Love You” tracks, which made Vee-Jay quickly reconfigure the album, replacing the tracks with “Ask Me Why” and “Please Please Me” and it’s the variant with these tracks that is called Version 2. Before it received a restraining order, Vee-Jay managed to release approximately 80,000 copies of “Introducing…The Beatles”. Almost all of the Mono Version 1 labels have an oval logo in different configurations, for example some of them have the centered track titles while the others have the left-justified text. Among them, one could find a rather rare variation with a 45 RPM-size label. And then, when you look through hundreds and thousands of Version 1 copies containing an oval logo for a long time, you all of a sudden come across these black multi-color band Vee-Jay labels with the large brackets logo, and you realize how rare this label variation truly is. This circumstance is also reflected in The Beatles LP Price Guide where the price of the oval label variation is $400 against $1000 for the brackets logo version. This is only the 3rd copy I’ve ever had physically in my hands. What else can I add concerning this rarest copy. First of all, I think that probably it’s impossible to find this cover in such a great Near Mint Minus condition. Original protective “United States Record Corp.” distributor Hi-Fi baggy has perfectly performed its function. This original vintage cover still contains a staple intact with a record store price tag still attached to it in the upper left-hand corner. The “Column Back” paste-over slick on the back cover displays the “Love Me Do” and “P.S. I Love You” tracks which were subsequently replaced. Original 1st run black multi-color band VJLP 1062 “Microgroove” “Long-Playing” 2.75’ pressing ring label with an incredibly rare Vee-Jay Records logo inside the large brackets. Very early 1st day official release pressing vinyl, weighing approximately 150g, pressed by Allentown Record Co. in Pennsylvania having the pressing plant’s identifier “ARC”. The runout groove also contains the machine “AudioMatrix” mastering company stamp. The 1st very early matrix stampers containing the “1” suffix in -A1 / -A1. The full matrix numbers of both sides of the vinyl are as follows: Side 1 - 63-3402 ARC  AudioMatrix A1 1-10-64; Side 2 - 63-3403 ARC IPA A1 AudioMatrix. Outstanding incredibly rare Version 1 copy with an insanely rare label variation contains the original Vee-Jay inner sleeve, with a white background and 25 adverts of other Vee-Jay’s releases on each side, which Vee-Jay used on the very early copies of this album.

Both, the cover and the inner sleeve, are in Near Mint Minus condition. The only flaw of the cover would be some very light barely noticeable age chipping on the spine. Other than that, the cover is in great condition and has never been taken our from the distributor baggy, still having a staple with a price tag intact in the upper left-hand corner. I grade the shiny vinyl as Very Good Plus. It has a few very light non-feelable hairlines along with some light scuffs from the inner sleeve. The labels are in great Excellent Minus condition, scuff- and wear-free, with only just a few very light spindle marks that could be seen under a strong light source. The vinyl plays well with only just some light static and occasional background noise that becomes more evident during the quiet passages. It's most likely they could get reduced or go away if the record is professionally cleaned using a VPI cleaning machine.
