Description

The Beatles – Hey Jude 1St Press UK LP Revolutions & Paper Back Writer Errors!

Item: The Beatles Hey Jude UK Export LP 1st issue pressing. Hey Jude was never actually issued in the UK on Apple labels as all copies were for export until it was eventually released in the UK on the Parlophone label at the later end of the 1970’s. This is the very rare Label errors with Paper Back Writer and Revolutions errors!

Matrix Numbers: YEEX 150-1 on side 1

      Stamper Codes: 2 at 9 O’clock and GD 3 O’clock

                         Side 2: YEEX 151-1 side 2

      Stamper Codes: 1 at 9 O’clock and M at 1 O’clock

Record Weight: 146g

Sleeve: Garrod & Lofthouse Ltd Laminated sleeve darker sleeve later issues were lighter.

Inner Sleeve: Original paper inner sleeve with made in England credit on the right side.

Labels: Apple labels with “Paper Back Writer” error instead of “Paperback Writer”, Also “Revolutions” error instead of “Revolution”. These errors were only on the first pressings.

The Sleeve: VG Has a lovely shine and luster. The rear does have some black pen colouring in on the outer edges but doesn’t detract from the nice sleeve and isn’t too noticeable. The spine is clearly readable. There is also some light discolouration to the edge of the front side opening otherwise the sleeve is in lovely condition.

Inner Sleeve: G There is a 8cm seam split to the side and some stain marks.

The Labels: VG Some spindle marks otherwise fine condition

Record Visually Graded: VG  There are 2 scuff marks

Record Playback: EX+ Great listen with great tone and quiet in between tracks. There are 4 clicks on the track "Can't Buy Me Love"  in the run out groove ending which only lasts for 4 turns which can’t be heard after that and it plays through fine without jumping or sticking. The record doesn’t have any warping.

Please note that the record has been professionally cleaned on a record cleaning machine with a non alcohol cleaning solution.

I use the following grading system:

M=Mint: The record/sleeve is brand new condition. Just like when first pressed and the record will have no deterioration in sound quality. All items including lyric sheet poster etc are in perfect condition.

NM=Near Mint: The record or sleeve may just marginally be off new condition and have the odd minor flaw.

EX=Excellent: The record shows signs of being played, but there is hardly any lessening in sound quality. The cover might show signs of wear.

VG=Very Good: The record has been played many times but displays no major deterioration in sound quality. Despite the odd occasional surface marks and the odd light scratch. The cover will shows signs of usage without any major defects.

G= Good: The record has been played numerous times and the sound quality has deteriorated and plays with distortion. The cover will have seam splits, scuffing of edges, discolouration and creases/ing.

F=Fair: The record has not been cared for properly and has loud surface noise but is still just playable. The sleeve will be torn, stained/defaced.

P=Poor: The record will not play properly due scratches and will have bad surface noise. The cover will be damaged and even have parts missing.

B=Bad: The record is unplayable possibly broken, which would only be considered as a collection filler.

I use a plus and minus signs +/-  to show if marginally better or worse condition.
