Description
Beatles Help PMC 1255
Not a very first iteration but I am fairly confident it is a 1965 copy which is still regarded as a "first pressing". The official "second pressing" came in 1966 and the font on the label is different, I have just sold a 1966 and the difference is significant.
Side 1 - XEX 549-2 Mother 5 RHH KT Tax Code - "The Beatles" and "Made In Gr Britain" on the bottom of the label is slightly closer together than the very first iteration.
Side 2 - XEX 550-2 Mother 9 ADDNo Tax Code - "The Beatles and "Made In Gt Britain" are further apart more like the earlier iterations which is unusual.
I am a Beatles fan and collector, but the massive amount of iterations is still a mindfield for me so sorry I cant be more specific, I have just tried to point out what I can. Any questions just shout.
Record Appearance - G/VG A lot of sellers would grade this as VG but it is at the lower end visually. Quite a few light marks and a couple of larger items, but nothing that affects playback. Side 1 label has pen mark written "I H" by the "£" on the top of the label.
Record Audio - VG/VG+ Close to VG+. There is some dirt/dust which causes surface noise in between tracks, but does not creep into the music when playing. Even on Yesterday there is just the odd very light noise, Paul's stunning voice overpowers it for the most part. I am sure a machine clean would eliminate most if not all of the this anyway. A beautiful sounding copy, big rich Mono sound just how this wonderful album should be heard. I would keep it if I didn't already have 2 mono copies!
Record Sleeve - G/VG Close to VG. There are some pen marks around the "Mono" symbol on the front face. Usual dirt and discolouration to the rear of the sleeve, which is normal for a well used 50 year old record sleeve being white. The rest of the sleeve is well protected by the laminate covering. A little ring wear under a bright light but nothing excessive. Record comes in original Emtex inner sleeve which is fully intact, just a little discolouration and crinkling.
