THE BEATLES – “HEY JUDE” (SO-385), an ORIGINAL 1970 PRESSING on APPLE RECORDS
RECORD: VG++ (EXC) with beautiful gloss and just a few very light surface scuffs that cannot be felt with the fingertip. This original, 1970 pressing should play great! The Apple labels are simply beautiful with only very light spindle marks seen under a bright light. This is quite an obscure album that the Beatles released early in 1970. First of all, the spine reads “HEY JUDE”, but the label reads “THE BEATLES AGAIN”. “HEY JUDE” is not listed until the first track on the Side 2 label. This album was basically a “hodge-podge” of earlier tracks put together on one album, with the exception of the singles “HEY JUDE / REVOLUTION” and “BALLAD OF JOHN & YOKO / OLD BROWN SHOE”. It is a super album, nonetheless, with each and every track being outstanding!
COVER: VG++ (EXC) with the original shrink wrap still present! This is RARE for any Beatles album! The original store price sticker of $4.49 is seen on the front. The reason for missing the NM grade is a tiny split that has started at the lower right corner as well as some chipping of the back slick at the open end. Some wear is noticed in the area of the lower left corner where a very small piece of shrink had torn away. There are tears in the shrink wrap at both upper & lower edges going back from the open end, but they do not extend fully across.
