Description

Hello and thanks for looking.

Here is a Mono press of 'HELP!', Parlophone PMC 1255.

This looks to be a 1st mono press. Black label with yellow logo and silver print. “The Gramophone Co. Ltd.” printed at the start perimeter print and “Sold in U.K. subject…” text. As per this listing: https://www.discogs.com/The-Beatles-Help/release/735564 ...of the 3 variants listed there, this would appear to match the first one ('Variant A')
  • Matrix / Runout (Side 1, stamped): XEX 549-2
  • Matrix / Runout (Side 2, stamped): XEX 550-2

Cosmetically, it's in pretty good shape. The flipback cover is intact with some peeling on the right hand corners (top and bottom). There is some very minor creasing to the laminate here and there, and the mostly white cover is showing its age a little (a bit of yellowing).  Plain inner. The record itself is pretty good. Under inspection in strong daylight some very minor marks on side 2. Side 1 has a long, but not deep (non-feelable) scuff mark.

I would rate around VG+ to VG (for side 1)

A quick playtest reveals it sounds generally great. Not much surface noise on the whole, and the side 1 mark doesn't seem to sound much after the first 2 or 3 songs. Generally pretty agreeable.

Bear in mind there's some reflection on the pictures of the record itself. Hopefully the pics will tell you anything else you need to know, but if not, just message me.

I am selling some other Beatles LP this week so please have a look at my other items.
