Description
This is a very nice copy of "From Me To You"/ "Thank You Girl" on Vee Jay Records 522 from 1963.
Vee Jay 522 was released in the U.S. in May, 1963, almost a year before the Beatles appeared on the Ed Sullivan Show in March, 1964! Vee Jay 522 was only the SECOND BEATLES 45 released in the U.S.(Vee Jay 498 was the first.) When it was released to radio stations in May of 1963, it bombed! There was little to no demand for the record and so very few were pressed. Beatlemania had not caught on yet in the U.S. Today Vee Jay 522 is difficult to find.
This copy is still in nice condition. Looking at the vinyl with a strong light, the vinyl looks VG+ or even VG++. However, it plays well. Both sides played through fine. What's deceiving is that although the vinyl LOOKS VG+/VG++, there is silence in the lead-in grooves and the sound of the recording itself is fine for a 61 year old recording. I did not hear any pops, clicks or scratches, just the sound of an older 45 RPM recording.
In addition, the labels on both sides are nice and clean without any labels, stickers or writing of any kind.
This would make a nice addition to any Beatles collection, to have the second Beatles record of any kind EVER to be released here. Now, try to find a Vee Jay 498!!
