In this auction is 1 Capitol Records EP (Extended Play) 7-inch record. Here are the details:  

 

·       “FOUR BY THE BEATLES” Extended Play (EP) by The Beatles  

·       This is Capitol Records EAP 1-2121.

·       It was issued in May 11, 1964.

·       This EP contains 4 songs. Side 1: “ROLL OVER BEETHOVEN” & “ALL MY LOVING” Side 2: “THIS BOY” & “PLEASE MISTER POSTMAN”.

·       This EP was issued in a cardboard picture cover entitled “FOUR BY THE BEATLES”. (NOTE: The Picture Cover is NOT included in this auction.)

·       The record is in NICE VG CONDITION with lots of gloss. It has some light surface hairlines/scuffs and there are a few very small light but “feel-able” scuffs on the “This Boy” cut that forces me to grade this record VG. The labels show light wear and a small light smudge near the top of the B-side label.

·       The EP format (7-inch record with 2 songs on each side) for Beatles’ records was not common at all in the U.S. In fact, only 3 Beatles’ EPs were commercially released in the U.S. in the 1960s: 2 were issued by Capitol Records and another was issued by Vee Jay Records.

·       It seems that Beatles EPs (both covers and records) have always been rather tough to come by (when compared to the availability of Beatles singles picture sleeves and records).

 

It’s an UNCOMMON HARD-TO-FIND BEATLES CAPITOL EP PRESSING in NICE VG CONDITION that deserves a place in someone’s Beatles or vinyl collection!
