Description

An original very 1st mono press of BFS on UK Parlophone. Matrix 3N/3N - 1st cut. So, its certainly worth going for the 1st press as it's the earliest - but it will also guarantee you the heaviest pressing. The vinyl comes housed in an original mono gatefold. We also have the original Emitex inner sleeve. So, 100% genuine and 100% complete.
Vinyl (Ex) A lovely copy that has only seen light use. There are a few light superficial marks - but absolutely nothing that will get remotely close to that precious audio. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals an, at least, EXCELLENT level of playback. Lovely quiet intros and inbetweens and the audio comes across with superb clarity. Really superb audio integrity. Yes, it's an early copy that will be helping. And yes it is heavy pressed by EMI. But ultimately what takes this copy up to the top-level is it has only seen light use. It's got a very delicate adept delivery - with hardly a whiff of background. Maybe a couple of crackles in a couple of spots per side - now that is an excellent strike rate on this title. Moonlight and Sun on side 1 are very tricky low-key tracks. They will play with a bit of background on most copies - but not here! The tracks play clean as a whistle - which is quite unusual. If you're looking for best audio - don't let this one drift out of your hands!
Cover (Vg+) A really difficult one to source in decent condition due to the way it was designed. But this example is in rather rude health. That front opening panel is usually knackered - but it's looking very crisp and clean. There's a couple of miniscule creases down in the bottom left corner, but overall that front is extremely unfettered. Ditto the rear - way way better than usual. The interior is looking real nice- just a touch of ageing on the flipbacks. Edge wear is relatively light for this title. The only thing that takes the grading down a touch is the spine. It's not actually that bad. A bit of light ageing - but the ends have frayed slightly [this is quite common]. All text on the spine is legible. Overall the cover retains excellent rigidity.
