September 10th, 1986 Japanese original release. DDI 13021 - 9.
A special Japan-only box set of 9 singles each housed in a separate identical reissue sleeve of an original 1960's Polydor release in Japan. All the singles are of songs performed by The Beatles in Hamburg days, with Tony Sheridan. Over the years, I have seen about 4 of these original records during my travels around Japan but I have never seen the majority of these in their original release format. This 1986 set was released privately within the Japanese 'Beatles Record Club' through mail order and was not generally available in the shops. The club agreed a deal with Polydor Records for the private arrangement. The 9 singles come with their own sleeve as mentioned (also NM++ condition) and in a red box (EX+) along with a lyric pamphlet (NM) and another information sheet about other Beatles memorabilia that could be purchased through the club. It's a super set, extremely rare and would make a great Christmas present for a true Beatles fan.
