Original 1966 pressing / Capitol Records #ST 2553 Stereo
The back of the jacket has RIAA "5" at the bottom right-hand corner
The matrix numbers are: Side 1 (ST-1-2553-A-13) Side 2 (ST-2-2553-B-18)
There is no Capitol Records insert or recall letter
There is absolutely no "Gold Records Award" stamping on the front that would indicate a re-issue (blah)
The bleed-through of Ringo's turtleneck underneath is present. It is somewhat hard to see......you really have to hold it at an angle in the right light - but the upside down triangle impression is definitely there where it's supposed to be, and it's really exciting once it is noticeable. I have been noticing it a lot better each time I look at it. It could have something to do with the cover being faded and/or dirty around that area.
I took a picture of my thumb in the close vicinity of where I noticed the bleed-through.

The vinyl is in fair condition and has a lot of surface wear....free from any excessive dirtiness, but has lots of large scratches and some scuffs
Labels are good and still have great color....there are some marks around spindle hole and a small tear spot on side 2

The jacket is in fair condition.....has some apparent disc ring, moderate fading, and a few small discoloration or stain spots on the front & back, but still has good colors & fonts
"1962" has been written in pen on the back at the top
Top seam & spine are solid, while the bottom seam is split almost all the way across with one piece of tape at the center....edges & corners have handling / storage wear - some dings on corners / peeling at center of spine and some fading of the fonts on the spine

Overall the jacket looks pretty good for it's age and is really not that bad. There are no major tears, huge stains, or anything that stands out as a complete eyesore.

This paste-over shows no indications of someone trying to peel back to see what's underneath.

All in all, this is going to be an excellent pick-up for anyone wanting this piece of history at a low price due to some of the flaws. If you are looking for a pristine or near mint copy - look elsewhere.
