This superb UK MONO 1st pressing dates from initial December 1964 release on the yellow & black Parlophone label: PMC 1240

Both labels have the 'Sold in UK...' text with 'The Parlophone Co...' rims.

The 'KT' purchase tax code is visible in the centre of the side 2 label.

Matrices: XEX 503-4N & XEX 504-4N

Stamper codes: 2/RM & 1/P

Vinyl weight: 147g

Housed in an outer laminated, inner-flipover mono gatefold cover.

Complete with its 'Use Emitex...' rice-paper lined inner-sleeve.

 

CONDITION

Labels: MINT -

An immaculate set bearing just a single light spindle trail around the side 1 centre hole only.

Visual: MINT -

It's hard to believe that a 56 year old record can look as it left the factory yesterday, but this one truly does. Both sides are 'as new' and are unmarked in strong daylight with just a few barely visible wispy paper hairlines on side 2 directly beneath halogen light. You won't find a cleaner copy.

Audio: MINT

Played possibly just once or twice at most, everything on this amazing disc plays flawlessly with a warmth and presence which can only come from a UK 1st pressing. Both run-ins and all bands play silently and there are no clicks, pops or any other distractions anywhere. Just pure joy from beginning to end and won't disappoint.

Cover: EXCELLENT

A tough one to find in anything better condition to this, but this example is clean & strong throughout with minor wear storagewear only. The delicate front leaf is clean & glossy with light rubbing but no creasing or 'thumbnails'. There is slight wear to the upper right corner tip but all of the others are in great shape. Both panels are clean & unblemished inside the gatefold with no yellowing to the white areas or any damage to the central hinge. The rear panel is as clean as the front but there are a couple of storage indentations on Paul's head. The spine is clean & square and all seams are smooth & unworn.
