Description

This is a 1964 mono 1st pressing of The Beatles UK LP A Hard Day's Night, Parlophone PMC 1230. The matrix numbers are XEX 481-3N to Side 1 and XEX 484-3N to Side 2. To give you as much information as possible about the LP I have graded it both visually and sonically. Visually the vinyl is EX+ with only a couple light lines to keep it from M-. The vinyl shows full gloss and no evidence of a lot of time on a turntable. The labels show light lines around the spindle hole.

Sonically, the LP plays very near to mint. There is some very, very faint static for the last few seconds of And I Love Her and into the dead wax after the song. I'm being very critical here as it is very faint and can be heard only if you listen closely. The rest of this LP plays mint without any surface noise or distortion. The sound clarity and resolution are stunning. Except for the few seconds of faint static described, the surfaces of this LP are absolutely silent without any surface noise evident with the music, on the run-in, run-out, or between songs. A truly awesome sounding example of this Beatles classic.

The jacket is a Garrod & Lofthouse and is EX towards EX+. It has some creasing in the upper right and left corners of the front. There is no ring wear, seam splits, tears, writing, or marks of any kind. The flipback seams are intact and clean.

I use strict grading standards from two record collector publications that use virtually identical grading standards; the UK publication Record Collector and the US publication Discoveries.
