Description
An original 1st press of Oldies on the UK Parlophone label from 1967. Matrix 1G/1G. Stampers 1H/1H - which places this pressing within the first 2,000 copies ever produced. Also please note that the publishing dates are on the left hand side of the label - this is indicative of 1st issue. The heavy set vinyl comes housed in an original Mono cover printed by Garrod & Lofthouse.
Vinyl (Ex+) In immaculate condition and has clearly only seen the very lightest of use. Under close inspection we struggled to make out anything more than a couple of ultra-fine marks. The surfaces really are like mirrors! A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals an, at least, EXCELLENT+ level of playback. Intros and inbetweens are silent and the audio comes across with perfect clarity. Let's face it - you're certainly unlikely to get any closer to those original mono masters than on a copy like this - and it shows. Beautiful audio quality - absolutely top-draw...you're not going to go any better than this. Interference is pretty much non-existent. We didn't detect more than a couple of crackles [literally] throughout the entire record. It's a final upgrade for sure...
Cover (Ex+) The cover is in terrific condition and way way better than most copies. Lovely shiny front cover with one tiny crease in the bottom-left corner. The rear - which so often lets the side down - has almost totally escaped fading of markings. All flipbacks are intact and firm attached. Edge wear is non-existent. The spine is 100% intact and overall the cover retains excellent rigidity. A truly stunning example...
