THE BEATLES: ‘A COLLECTION OF BEATLES OLDIES’ – AN ORIGINAL 1966 UK BLACK AND YELLOW PARLOPHONE FIRST ISSUE STEREO VINYL LP – PCS 7016.
First released on the 9th December 1966, and the first Beatles compilation of hits LP. The vinyl LP is on the traditional black and yellow Parlophone Label, with ‘The Gramophone Co Ltd’ label rim, and ‘Sold in UK…’ label text.
This one and only 1960s Beatles compilation album contains 16 original Stereo Beatles Tracks which were recorded between 1963 to 1966.
Both record labels are in superb Excellent Plus to Near Mint condition, bright, clean record labels, showing just a few light centre spider trails, with no fading to the Silver and Yellow text.
Side 1 matrix: YEX 619-1G and Side 2: YEX 620-1G.
Side 1 stampers: 2 P and Side 2: 1 H.
There is an embossed ‘KT’ tax code to the centre of the side 2 record label.
Both sides of the Vinyl disc are in superb Near Mint condition, clean and bright unworn vinyl surfaces, showing a couple of light, non sounding, surface hairlines, but NO deep scratches or scuffs.
The album plays very well throughout with a powerful stereo sound quality, with NO skips or clicks.
The album comes in an original ‘EMI’ Advertising Inner Bag which is a nice example, no seam splits, just mild light creasing.
The LP is housed in its original and stunning First Issue Laminated Ernest J. Day & Co. Ltd, London W.1. three flip back sleeve, printed ‘stereo’ to the top right hand corner of the front of the sleeve, and with three very large flipbacks to the reverse.
The Laminated sleeve is a stunning example, and in Mint Minus condition. The front panel is very glossy with unfaded rich colours. The reverse panel of the sleeve is very clean and white, the flip backs, spine edge, and other edges are undamaged.
