Before the Capitol Records Scranton, PA pressing plant shut down in July 1973 it managed to make the metal master for The Beatles "1962-1966", also known as the "Red Album". It's most likely that just like the majority of other promotional copies this copy was pressed at the Scranton pressing plant. For almost 50 years this copy remains factory sealed. 1st print gatefold cover contains a large standard Capitol Records 0.5' promotional punch hole in the upper right hand corner. The center top of the back cover contains an Apple Records logo and "1700 Broadway, New York, New York 10019" address at the bottom. Apple promoted this album with a red rectangular song title sticker which has the Apple logo at the top. There're two types of the sticker with one showing the shading of the Apple logo on the left side and the other with the Apple logo shaded on the right side. This copy has the rarer sticker variation with the Apple logo shaded on the left side. This promotional copy is equipped with an additional set of original unused factory 1st print Apple labels having a red background and "MFD BY APPLE RECORDS, INC." text on a 8.5' x 12¾' sheet with the factory crop marks. Every copy of this pressing features colorful red inner sleeves listing the lyrics to all of the songs. In addition to this, every copy features a white insert listing all of the songs on the "1962-1966" album and its companion "1967-1970" with the second side showing their availability on LP or single, and on the two remaining tape formats. The album and factory labels are in Mint condition. The shrink wrap having the original breathe holes remains intact with only a light barely visible micro tear next to the promotional punch hole.
