Original 1963 1st Pressing Parlophone Mono LP (PMC 1202) Dick James Credits.
Not a perfect example hence the price but my grading is strict and honest. The labels are better condition than many you will see!
This pressing was manufactured using the older machines back in the day, this is why it has a groove on one side. This is not a contract pressing.
This is priced fairly and the grading is strict! If you look at current and past examples being sold, many look over graded and they sell for more money normally with scruffy labels.
Also this has the grooved label as seen in the pictures above, these do no show up very often for sale.
This also has the correct E J Day cover, many have been changed over the years by dealers. If you do completed listing on E Bay with the search Beatles Black Gold you will see this. All the black and gold label pressing came with the Angus Mcbean credit to the far right hand side of the cover. The 1st yellow & black label examples had this cover too so every black and gold label pressing should have this 1st issue E J Day cover.
The Record / Good- / G- / The disc has it`s original gloss, under halogen light the disc has some light surface wear and some very light marks + a few more visible marks across side 1 that I have tried to photo above. A couple of these marks are deeper than a surface mark. The LP plays OK, you will get some surface sound / some ticks as it is graded Good minus / G- Minus strict conditions. The record is no trashed as many 1st pressing of this LP are but it is far from perfect. The LP did not jump or get stuck on my player and in generally sounds better than G- and a more VG play grade.

The Labels / A clean nice EX Minus / Both are in clean condition. Side 1 has the MT tax code. The labels have some light age wear only.
The Emitex Inner Cover / VG- condition / The inner is dirty from age but it is not split. I placed the LP in a new inner cover that is also induced with the sale.
The E J Day Cover / (Good-) G- condition / The front is still reasonably clean, the back has some (crude) rubbing out at the top from years ago as seen in the above pictures. The cover is still solid and again I have seen this is wore conditions as a true 1st press cover. This has the Angus McBean credit to the far right at the bottom right hand front corner. The cover has some flipback damage / corner wear you will get with a cover graded G-. As stated the front is far better tan the back.
I use UK record grading system as follows >>> Bad / Poor / Fair / Good (G) / VG / Excellent / Mint.
This is for someone who does NOT need a perfect example. This is NOT mint or for a museum hence the price. The grading is strict and honest. I use the above UK standard grading system. A perfect example would cost a big price nowadays.
