================================================================ This set is housed in the rarest UK manufactured box, limited to a very small number due to the very poor sales figures for John's previous 2 experimental solo releases. Sales were so low in both this country and the USA, that surplus unused USA boxes were imported for use with all remaining first pressings. Most UK issues will carry the U.S. code SMAX-3361 on the side of the lid. This rare example omits that information. ================================================================
ALL THE COMPONENTS HERE ARE 100% ORIGINAL AND IN VERY GOOD CONDITION.

THE BOX
Made as cheaply as possible, this unlaminated cardboard item is poorly constructed. The outer 'skin' is pasted onto the cardboard but serves no purpose at the corners, which are held together by nothing more than glued-on paper pieces. The base section being protected by the top piece has stayed intact. However, the very act of holding the lid to lift it clear, puts such a strain on its corners that there is always a failure point at which the corner separates. Of course, once this happens, the lid comes away easily. This is what has happened here. I think that two corners are still as they were from manufacture and two are decent paste-over repairs. There is also a place where the side has split, but again, this been glued and has held together well. I have taken lots of photos to show every detail. I have seen a few of these originals and I don't think you will find one without a tear at the corners. This one has stayed largely intact and remains solid.

A copy, which is glued to the underside of the lid. This one is the UK printed version by Shenval Press, London; as opposed to the USA printed version by Delta Press, New York.

THE WEDDING POSTER
A huge 36'' x 24'' double sided, fold-out sheet with 12 photo shots of the wedding day. Completely intact, with nothing more than some age related toning and some random surface marks/staining.

Well, a photo of a generous portion. Printed by Shenval and in perfect condition.

Ten page booklet containing interesting photos, cartoon strips and press cuttings. Near perfect. A few thumb impressions and spine wrinkles, mainly on the exposed outer pages.

Beautiful, deep gloss surfaces with no visible needle lines. In reflected daylight there are the wispiest signs of handling, nothing more.

Both labels are in top condition, with just a few spindle trails.
Cover:

Housed in a laminated gatefold sleeve (same as Beatles For Sale), this example is better than most. Generally clean and smooth all over, the spine is uncrushed and there are just a few creases and tiny areas of laminate lift but overall, it is in excellent condition.
Inner sleeve:
