Description

Back in the 70's in Sydney, there was an uber-hip ad agency called The Sales Inventors. There was also an equally hip, but small, nightclub in Potts Point called Arthur's (owned and run by actress Claudia Karvan's Dad, trivia buffs).

Anyway, The Sales Inventors chose to have their 1979 Christmas party at Arthur's, and as an invite, brand new copies of the Beatles 1976 Parlophone re-issue of "I Wanna Hold Your Hand"/"This Boy" 7", were re-jigged with new party-invite labels on Side Two. These were sent out, within their original late-70's-version EMI company sleeves, to the agency's clients and the only way in was to bring your 45 with you on the day (30th November 1979).

I can't tell you how many were made as the person I bought this from was the DJ on the day, but the club could only comfortably hold about 150 people max., so I'd assume that around 100-120 would be a quite conservative estimate, as he said the place was tabled, not standing, and it wasn't packed out, and I haven't been able to find anyone from the company who might know.

Regardless, this is the only copy I've ever seen surface.
