Description
Forty four Armed Forces Radio 16" records in a hard case that were assigned to the Commander Service Force, U.S. Atlantic Fleet. The records are as follows: Music for Sunday, Charlie Mccarthy, Comedy Caravan, Guy Lombardo, Hour of Charm, Kollege of Knowledge, Music for America, Music Hall, Music we Love, Raymond Scott, Spotlight Bands, Sunday Serenade, Supper Club, Jill's Journal, Intermezzo, Mail Call, Melody Roundup, American Album, Bob Hope, Downbeat, Personal Album, Yank Bandstand, One Night Stand. Many of the Albums have the performer written on the record center label such as Tommy Dorsey, Dinah Shore, etc. .....Many of these performances were live performances, probably not recorded elsewhere. The records were acquired by my father after WWII. I have had them for over 28 years. They have been kept in cool storage. Some are scratched, but most are in good condition. Unfortunately, we haven't been able to listen to them because we never had a turntable to play the large 16" vinyl records. I would sure love to hear what is on them. Maybe someone can convert them to CD. Half of the proceeds will be donated to the earthquake victims of Haiti.
