The Animals Animalization 1966 US MGM Mono E-4384 NM/VG+
Cover: Near Mint. This is in surprisingly good shape for its age. Cut out hole at bottom left on front. Top and bottom spines are weirdly nearly scuff-free. Title spine has 1/2 inch area of paper cracking seemingly because of a corner bump. You can see the crease from this on the front sleeve at very top left corner at a certain angle of light. The rest of the title spine is nearly perfect except for fraying at very bottom corner. Very minor corner bumps on 2 of the 4 corners, not bad at all. Neatly printed name at bottom right corner back sleeve. No ringwear that I can see on front or back.
Standard mid-60s MGM inner sleeve.
Disc: Visually VG. Both sides have a mixture of about 15-20 mostly hairline scratches -(Side 2 has 2-3 very visible scratches) all non-feelable- and smudge-y spots over the entire surface of each side. Glossy, but Side 1 is the least glossy of the 2.
Audio: Side 1 VG+. From the first needledrop at the lead-in groove area, there is a noise level of 1.5 out of 10 (10 being the worst).As the opener, "Don't Bring Me Down" starts up, there is one noticeable tick heard during the organ /bass/ drum intro before the fuzz guitar comes in. At the conclusion of that track, the noise level has picked up to 2.5 out of 10 and remains so for the rest of the side in between tracks(the music largely overrides this).
Side 2: VG+ From the first needledrop at lead-in groove area, the noise level is 2.5 out of 10 and is accompanied by two sweeps of static: one before the opening track "See See Rider" begins and the second one during the organ crescendo intro. It isn't as loud as the music, and is very quick but is significant ("srrmph"-it seems to sound like).At the conclusion of this track, the noise level has gone back down to 1.5 out of 10 and remains so before "Gin House Blues" and before "Maudie". At the conclusion of "Maudie" and before "What Am I Living For" it has gone down to 0.5 out of 10 (barely discernable) and remains so for the rest of the side.
So, to sum up the audio...except for the static on the intro of "See See Rider" Side 2 would be close to VG++ and Side 1 would be a strong VG+ as it is.
