Live 17 February 1972 Rainbow Theatre London Tour 1903
Up for auction is a copy of the 12" vinyl "bootleg" recording of "Pink Floyd - In Celebration of the Comet". Recorded Live 17 February 1972, at The Rainbow Theatre / London. This is a rare copy of this bootleg. It's the original "TAKRL" pressing with "Tour A / B" marked in the "dead wax" area on each side respectively. According to wikipedia and other internet sources, this indicates that this record is in fact a live recording of Pink Floyd, live at the Rainbow Tree in London... 1972. The yellow jacket is a bit dirty and stained here and there, I think the pictures are accurate as to the condition of the jacket. The vinyl itself is in good shape. I am not a record collector but I do own a decent turntable and a few records. I would say this vinyl is in very good shape. I can see one minor scratch and the rest is dust from being in storage. I'll let the new owner clean the record themselves. I tried my best to take a picture of the dead wax area showing the markings, but if you have questions, please let me know.This is a MUST HAVE for any Pink Floyd or vinyl collector and its your chance to own a rare piece of Floyd history / vintage vinyl bootleg!

IN CELEBRATION OF THE KOMET IS THE FIRST TAKRL PINK FLOYD RELEASE. TAKRL DID NOT INTRODUCE THEIR CUSTOM LABELS UNTIL THE RELEASE AFTER THIS (CAT STEVENS TAKRL 1904) SO THE FIRST PRESSINGS HAVE PLAIN LABELS. ALL ORIGINAL US TAKRL ISSUES HAD A ‘TOUR 1903 A/B’ MATRIX NUMBER. SOME LATER COPIES (ON THE DESSIE RECORDS LABEL) HAD ‘DESSIE A/B GR L29708’ MATRIX NUMBERS AND ANOTHER RE-ISSUE HAD 'P1 532A/B LL789' MATRIX NUMBERS. YET ANOTHER RE-ISSUE WAS PRESSED FROM THE 'ECLIPSED' PLATES WITH A MATRIX NUMBER OF 'ECL SIDE 3/4' AND PLAIN WHITE LABELS.
Again, This is the original pressing with "Tour 1903 A/B" etched in the dead wax.

The Amazing Kornyfone Record Label (TAKRL) was one of the first bootlegging record labels in America. Kornyfone was based in Southern California in the 1970s.
The label released albums from such artists as The Beatles, David Bowie, Bob Dylan, The Grateful Dead, Led Zeppelin, Elton John, Joni Mitchell, Pink Floyd, Genesis, and others. Kornyfone was noted for their packaging, with interesting artwork and informative covers.
