Description
The Allman Brothers were an American southern rock band formed in 1969 by Duane Allman (slide guitar, lead guitar), and Gregg Allman (vocals, keyboard, songwriter). Duane Allman was killed in a motorcycle crash in 1971, and Gregg died in 2017. "Eat A Peach" is their third studio album released in 1972 by Capricorn Records. At the time, many in the band wre struggling with heroin addictions and checked into rehab to comfort these problems. Shortly after leaving rehab, Duane Allman was killed in a motorcycle accident making this his final album. The cover art depicts the band's name on a peach truck. The brothers home was Macon, Georgia. Inside the gatefold cover is a large fantasy landscape. Eat A Peach was an immediate success, and peaked at #4 on The Billboard Top 22 Pop Album's chart. The gatefold cover is in very good+ condition showing some soil due to the light-matte coloring. Both vinyl are in excellent condition and come with the printed insert. Capricorn Records, #CPN 00111.
