Description
Rare, original "Reference Acetate" / "Dub Plate",
or more accurately, a UNIQUE, probably "one-off"
"Radio Transcription" recording of an on-air radio show
from December 25th, 1946. This two disc set has
Part One b/w Part Three on one disc,
and you can hear samples of
each side at the bottom of the "Description" below.
The second disc includes Part Two on one side,
and the other side is blank;
This configuration allows
the engineer / radio DJ to play continuously
on 2 turntables,
as was always the norm on broadcast radio stations,
even before the advent of "club DJ-ing",
starting in the late 1950s.
This show includes dialog dramatization of the
long running comic strip of the same name.
The labels have a line across the middle that has
less age-staining than the rest of the label.
The "stock" label information
is printed, with the
AMERICAN BROADCASTING COMPANY, INC.
logo printed in red on both labels, and the specifics
of this item areTYPED on each label.
We play-graded each side, and there are no skips,
and surface noise that is non-obtrusive
and generally not loud, despite the series of scratches
across much of the First side.

This is an AMAZING window into an era and a slice of
forgotten time in a radio broadcast that's probably
impossible to find, and was never released officially or
otherwise. The first two episodes of these broadcasts
were issued on a 1973 Vinyl LP
produced by George Garabedian
This 2 disc set will be securely packed with
protective filler pads in a tightly taped LP mailer box.
