Tennessee Williams spoken word LP Andy Warhol cover art What you are bidding on is a vintage vinyl record LP album, "Tennessee Williams reading from The Glass Menagerie, The Yellow Bird, and Five Poems" on Caedmon Records #TC 1005. This is a 1960 spoken word LP with ANDY WARHOL COVER ART! Years before his pop art breakthrough to the mainstream! As I mentioned, this is a 1960 pressing of a 1952 poetry reading by Tennessee Williams.
Andy Warhol worked as an illustrator in advertising during the 1950's and early 1960's. His first exhibition as an artist was in 1962, making this record album a very significant early piece by the budding and soon to be super-famous Warhol.
This beautiful album is in LIKE NEW condition. I don't think it has ever been played. You will never find a nicer copy. The cover is Mint- with one tiny edge bump on the bottom right hand edge. The cover itself is shiny and new and looks as though it were printed yesterday, though it is 49 years old. The vinyl is gloriously mint, appears unplayed. A beautiful copy of this rare LP!
